Forbes and Walker Warehousing (Pvt) Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of Forbes and Walker (Pvt) Ltd a group of companies established in 1881 engaged in commodity brokering (tea, rubber, spices), leisure, warehousing and export of agricultural products. The company has since grown and is now recognized as the largest tea broking businesses in Sri Lanka. F and W warehousing (pvt) Ltd was incorporated in 2004, as a BOI approved undertaking to build and operate a 100,000 sq.ft warehouse outside the city of Colombo. Since 1991 F and W had been in warehousing referred as “Forbes Services” and now is a modern high roof warehouse at ambient temperature and with specialized areas for the different types of cargo including a standard pallet racked area.

Coast Conservation Department

The combating Coastal Erosion dates back to many centuries and Coast Protection works were handled by various departments at various times prior to 1963. The realization of the government, that a comprehensive approach to coastal erosion control is required, led to establishment of a Coast Protection Unit in the Colombo Port Commission in 1963.
